Mia is a senior studying Biochemistry at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. She works a medical scribe with ScribeAmerica. She hopes to attend medical school after she graduates.
In her free time, she scouts for the greatest local restaurants, plays guitar and plays tennis. She lives with a giant rescue lab named Annie. She takes things very seriously, especially friendship and single-origin coffee.
Mia volunteers because...
I’ve struggled with bipolar disorder and I’m a member of the LGTBQIA community. I’m fortunate enough to have the support system I need. When I came out, my family and friends were happy for me. When I was depressed or manic, they were kind and as helpful as possible. There are people like me who aren’t so lucky. Volunteering lets me use my experiences in a positive way.
