Are You In Need of an Advocate to Help You Access Proper Treatment and Care to Ensure Mental Wellness and Recovery?
When you're struggling to cope with a mental illness, it's often difficult to also advocate for yourself in what is becoming an increasingly uncaring world full of road blocks and red tape.
In our team's mentoring and advocacy work, we've seen many face hurdles -- at times insurmountable -- when trying to receive vital services that would impact both their lives and recovery in truly meaningful ways. We get it loud and clear.
But we're also here to tell you that you are not in this alone. We are here to help.
Hope for Mentally Ill provides free advocacy services to those in need to help ensure they get the services and treatment they deserve. We're not experts but our team of mental health advocates cares.
Below are some of the way our advocate team can assist and advocate for children, youth and adults.
coordinating with parents to locate therapists and psychiatrists that accept your health insurance
Adults - assistance and advocacy for:
food stamps, health insurance and disability applications & appeals
transitional or Section 8 housing
emotional support animals or psychiatric service dogs
finding therapists and psychiatrists that accept your health insurance

Who Can Request An Advocate? Anyone Who Needs Help.
Our program offers assistance to anybody who needs it whether it be an individual who is struggling with a mental illness and the "system," a parent with a child who is not receiving proper care and treatment, or a family member who is trying to assist someone get whatever it is he or she needs to ensure mental wellness and, in some cases, social justice.
